This property happens to be the groom’s parents, which made it really personal. The house was right on a lake in Seattle and everything was top notch. The dining area was set in a grove of large cedar trees in the front yard and created a unique vibe. I really enjoyed capturing the moments and details from this wedding. Thanks to Matt & Stephanie for the special experience.

Their names alone guaranties to be an interesting subject. I’ve always been a fan of Mat The Alien as an artist, and of his humble personality. His son Eliot is clearly on a similar path with the way that he plays and interacts with things and people. It was super interesting to observe this little guy and capture him being in his little bubble.

I spend most of each September in Seattle at the Ride Snowboards office shooting the next season’s catalog. These are a few spreads from the 2013/14 catalog. Russ Cosgrove is the art director at Ride and Deke Smith, dksmth.com was the senior designer for the project. Russ’s concept was to keep it clean and bright, and to be confident in the product holding it’s own weight on the pages. I think it turned out really well and is one of the best Ride catalogs to date.
